Hidden Safari

For this project we started by learning about the elements in a safari. We talked about the animals we could see and where safaris typically take placeAfter talking and learning about safaris, we made glasses that we would use later onWe then chose the animals we would draw and “hide on our papers.” I chose to do a monkey drawn in a cool color and then put a bunch of patterns over it with warm colors. After drawing it we put on our glasses that we made to see through the patterns, to the animal we drew prior.

An extension for this activity could be to have students write a story about their animal. This could be a fictional made-up story about where their animal might live and what they do for fun.
